Qcells’ Solar Tech Breakthrough: Revolutionizing Space Efficiency in Renewable Energy
Qcells, a division of Hanwha Corp, has announced a significant advancement in solar technology that could reduce the space required for solar panels, potentially transforming the solar power industry.

Qcells achieved a world record efficiency of 28.6% for a large-area silicon solar cell enhanced with perovskite, a material known for its high light absorption and cost-effectiveness. This innovation could decrease the number of panels needed for equivalent power output, thereby reducing installation costs and addressing opposition to large land-use solar projects in the U.S. The breakthrough has been verified by the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems in Germany.
