USDA Unleashes $6 Billion to Supercharge Rural America’s Clean Energy Revolution

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is investing over $6 billion through its Empowering Rural America (New ERA) and Powering Affordable Clean Energy (PACE) programs to develop renewable energy projects, including solar PV and energy storage, across 30 rural states, aiming to provide clean, affordable energy and create jobs.

In a significant move to bolster renewable energy in rural America, the USDA has announced investments exceeding $6 billion through its New ERA and PACE programs. These funds will support the development of solar photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage projects across 30 states, providing clean and affordable energy to rural communities while fostering job creation. Notably, the New ERA program will receive over $5.49 billion to finance 28 clean energy projects in 21 states, including a 200MW solar PV plant by Seven States Power Corp and a 1.2GW renewable energy procurement by Great River Energy in Minnesota and North Dakota.
