RWE Halts U.S. Offshore Wind Projects Amid Trump Administration Policies
German energy giant RWE has suspended its U.S. offshore wind operations, citing regulatory uncertainty and political opposition under President Trump’s administration.

RWE, Germany’s largest electricity producer, has ceased its offshore wind activities in the United States due to the challenging political environment created by the Trump administration. CEO Markus Krebber highlighted that the company remains cautious given recent political developments, leading to the suspension of projects like the 3-gigawatt Community Offshore Wind venture with the UK’s National Grid. RWE emphasized that future investments in the U.S. will require all necessary federal permits, secured tax credits, and mitigated tariff risks.
