Nicor Gas Launches First Renewable Natural Gas Interconnection in Illinois, US
Nicor Gas has initiated Illinois’ first renewable natural gas (RNG) interconnection, converting landfill emissions into clean energy.

Located adjacent to the Winnebago Landfill in Rockford, Illinois, and operated by Waste Connections, this facility captures methane emissions from decomposing waste and processes them into RNG. The RNG is then integrated into Nicor Gas’s distribution system, providing a renewable energy source for consumers.
