L’Oréal Achieves 100% Renewable Energy Usage Across European Operations
As of December 2024, L’Oréal has transitioned all its European factories, distribution centers, and offices to operate entirely on renewable energy, marking a significant milestone in its sustainability journey.

In December 2024, L’Oréal reached a pivotal sustainability goal by achieving 100% renewable energy usage across its European operations, encompassing factories, distribution centers, and offices. This accomplishment is part of the company’s broader “L’Oréal for the Future” strategy, aiming for carbon neutrality and complete renewable energy adoption at all sites by 2025. Notably, by the end of 2023, 83% of L’Oréal’s operated sites worldwide had transitioned to 100% renewable energy, a significant increase from 34% in 2019. Europe plays a crucial role in L’Oréal’s global footprint, hosting 19 of its 38 factories, including 11 in France. This achievement follows the company’s earlier success in attaining 100% renewable energy in its South Asia Pacific, Middle East & North Africa (SAPMENA) Zone. Read more.
