Energy Company Owes DC Millions for Not Meeting Clean Energy Rule
Washington Gas has agreed to a $2.1 million settlement with the District of Columbia for failing to meet solar energy development requirements outlined in a 2018 merger agreement.

Attorney General Brian L. Schwalb announced that AltaGas, Ltd., the parent company of Washington Gas, did not fulfill its commitment to develop 10 megawatts of solar energy within three years as part of its merger with WGL Holdings. The settlement funds will be directed towards supporting the District’s clean energy initiatives and assisting low-income residents with energy efficiency improvements. Read more.
